I couldn't really think of a title for this entry, but... well, it's closed on Broadway. Screw them. I mean, not the cast, but... oh dear.

I figured this is the place to say it. [Aug. 5th, 2006|12:05 pm]

I have this urge, especially with the closing news all of a sudden, to jump on a plane, see the show and come back. Just for that.
I want to experience this so much...and I'm on the other side of the frickin' world.
And in my house, people are telling me to "stop sulking, it's just a show."

[music |My Friends- Sweeney Todd OBC]

At least there haven't been too many posts here! ...not sure if that is good or not. But at least we're happy little Sweeney fans!
But to rain on our parade, I rented Sweeney in concert from the video store to watch before thr TV gets packed up since I'm moving and it just would NOT play, no matter what I did to it! So no Sweeney in concert, and I wasted money renting it. *sigh* Petty troubles, but troubles nonetheless...

A sad fact about me, I had to listen to my Sweeney Todd Revival Recording in order to get some work done around the house today.

It sucks to be on the other side of the country. I don't think I'll ever get a chance to see the revival, because I'm living in a really crappy state called Arizona. Just had to get that out.

[music |"SPCA" - Michael Cerveris]

I'm very excited, because tomorrow I'm going into the city with the performing arts club to see The Drowsy Chaperone, which I DO want to see....
But it's not Sweeney and I'll be in the vicinity of Michael Cerveris and not get to see him. And it will be AGONY.
And I still can't get over standing across the street after the performance and having the whole cast walk right BY me, and just staring at them, and staring at Michael from across the street and not going over and it's the worst thing EVER.
My friend went and got me his autograph (and Mano's, Alex's, and Diana's), but it's not the same. Because she met him and I didn't.
And my drama teacher TAUGHT Alexander Gemignani (she was the director of a summertime acting program) and she's buddy-buddy with him and why can't she use her connections to get me in with the cast? I don't understand this. SOOOOOOOO sad.

I left my rant about Best Revival in the comments section of the previous post. One thing I do have to say about the awards last night was the performance from Sweeney Todd. I don't think they should have gone with a medley. Doing that didn't allow any of the nominated actors enough time to truly show off his/her talent nor did the songs last long enough to truly engage the crowd in the story. I think they should have gone with a shortened version of A Little Priest or a shortened version of God That's Good!

Regardless, it was still robbed like whoa.

PS: Did anyone notice the blast of spit that spewed from Michael Cerveris' mouth at the very end?
